      How do these treatments work?

Saxenda (Liraglutide), Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), and Wegovy (Semaglutide) are all prescription injectable medications that support weight loss by different but complementary methods.

Saxenda  and Ozempic are both injectable medications that work by controlling appetite to make you feel full. Orlistat is a capsule that works by blocking the absorption of fat from food.

Are your weight loss treatrments safe?

All the medications we prescribe (Mounjaro, Saxenda, and Wegovy) are generally safe when used as directed under the supervision of our healthcare professionals.

Like all medications, they may cause side effects. The most common side effects of Saxenda and Wegovy include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Mounjaro can also cause similar digestive effects, along with possible changes in appetite and energy levels.

Our pharmacists closely monitor your progress and support you in managing any side effects to ensure your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.

What are the potential side effects of treatments?

The most common side effects of Saxenda and Ozempic are nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The most common side effect of orlistat is oily stools.

Can I get weight loss treatment on the NHS?

NHS weight loss treatment is typically available for individuals with a BMI of 40 or above. For people from South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, or African-Caribbean backgrounds, the threshold is lower, at a BMI of 37.5 or above, if they have at least four weight-related health conditions:

          • Type 2 diabetes.
          • High blood pressure (hypertension).
          • High cholesterol or abnormal fat levels in your blood (dyslipidaemia).
          • Obstructive sleep apnoea.
          • Established cardiovascular disease (heart disease).

How often do I need to receive treatment?

Saxenda and Ozempic are typically taken once a day. Orlistat is taken three times a day with meals.

Can weight loss methods be combined?

Absolutely. Combining prescription weight loss treatments with a balanced diet and regular exercise is often the most effective way to achieve lasting results and maintain a healthy weight.

How long does it take to see results?

It takes about 4-6 weeks to see results from weight loss treatments. However, the amount of weight you lose will vary depending on the treatment you are using and your individual circumstances.

Are your treatments suitable for everyone?

Weight loss treatments may not be appropriate for everyone. If you have any existing health conditions or concerns, it’s important to consult your doctor before starting any treatment.

How much do weight loss treatments cost?

Private consultations with our pharmacist are free - you only pay for the treatment itself. The price of weight loss treatments varies depending on which option you choose. Our pharmacist will provide full details during your consultation.

If you qualify for NHS treatment (which must be initiated by your GP), you may be exempt from NHS prescription charges.

NHS eligibility criteria include a BMI of 40 or above (or 37.5+ for people of South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African, or African-Caribbean descent) plus at least four of the following weight-related health issues:

          • High blood pressure (hypertension).
          • High cholesterol or abnormal fat levels in your blood (dyslipidaemia).
          • Obstructive sleep apnoea.
          • Established cardiovascular disease (heart disease).

          BMI calculator

Is there evidence that your treatments work?

Scientific studies support the effectiveness of our weight loss treatments. Clinical trials show that Saxenda and Wegovy can help people lose an average of 5-10% of their body weight. Mounjaro has been shown to support weight loss of up to 25% in some cases. These treatments, combined with lifestyle changes, can significantly improve your health.

      Are all appointments in person?

Yes but we can provide remote check-ins too including as calls and Whatsapp in. Monthly reviews are always in person ensuring you receive the best care and support.

      Do I qualify for treatment?

Your BMI is one of several factors we consider when assessing your suitability for treatment.

Generally, a BMI of 30 or above - or 26 and above if you have related health conditions - may qualify you for our service.

Use our calculator to get your score or simply pop in and we’ll help you.

Service is available to 18 years and over only.

      I have more questions.
